Buddy Guy was born on July 30, 1936 in Lettsworth, Louisiana, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Sinners (2025), In the Electric Mist (2009) and Idiocracy (2006).
Recipient of the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors. Other recipient that year were Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman, Natalia Makarova, and the rock band Led Zeppelin, comprising John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant.
In 2003 was awarded the US National Medal of Arts. From Pointe Coupee Parish, LA. Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2008.
