Special Pandal, Old Fort High School Grounds, will host the 85th annual Sree Ramanavami World Music Festival from 30 March to 30 April 2023. There will be around 400 musicians from throughout the world, as well as experts on Hindu mythology. During the festival, there will also be the 20th Prathibhakankshi Music Competition.
The Sree Ramanavami World Music Festival in Bengaluru kicks off with the beginning of Rama Navami, a Hindu festival honoring the birth of Lord Rama. This festival, which focuses exclusively on Carnatic music, has been a staple of the Indian classical music circuit since 1939, and it is widely regarded as one of the best. The festivities were kicked off by three of India’s presidents, four of its vice presidents, and all of Karnataka’s governors and chief ministers.
Among the leading musicians who have performed at the Sree Ramanavami Global Music Festival post Independence include Dandapani Desikar, R. R. Keshavamurthy, Salem Chellam Iyengar, Veena Doreswamy Iyengar, Salem Raghavan, P. Bhuvaneshwariah, Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, M. S. Gopalakrishnan, K.S. Gopalakrishnan, Madurai T. N. Seshagopalan, Sudha Raghunathan, Bombay Jayashree, Sowmya and Nithyasree Mahadevan.
