Sunburn Arena 6 city Tour with legendary DJ Snake a phenomenal success

The autumn of 2022 brought a wonderful surprise to the sub-continent as multi-platinum producer DJ Snake undertook an expansive tour spanning 6 cities across India. Billed as one of the “largest Arena showcases to be witnessed in India” this year, the packed itinerary saw six shows across six major metros over a span of two weekends.

The French powerhouse kicked off his tour on 18th November 2022 in Ahmedabad followed by a show in Delhi NCR on 19th November 2022 and then jetted back to Hyderabad for the next show on 20th November 2022. The tour thereafter headed to Pune on 25th November 2022, followed by maximum city Mumbai on 26th November 2022, to finally wrapping up on a high note in Bengaluru on 27th November 2022.

Born William Grigahcine, DJ Snake was born to an Algerian mother and French father in Paris and grew up in Ermont but always loved to travel. He was inspired to take up DJing after seeing a scene in the classic 1995 French film  La Haine, in which turntablist Cut Killer performs from his window for the neighbourhood below.  “As a teenager, I loved American acts like 2Pac, Biggie and even the Fugees. I had no idea what they were saying. I was just listening to the beats, the flow, the vibe,” he says. From the time he rode to fame with ‘Turn down for what’, the single-sentence lyrical Trap Metal number in 2013, DJ Snake has grown from being an artiste-to-watch to one of the world’s most sought-after performers.

The six city Sunburn Arena extravaganza across India saw the boundary-pushing disruptor interlace elements of traditional dance music with classic R&B and funk to create an anthemic electronic set and set the stage ablaze at these multi-city high-energy can’t-miss stadium performances.

Said DJ Snake, “Honestly, the energy I feel when I am in India is one of the most amazing things,” he says, adding that the overwhelming welcome makes him feel like India is his second home. “I feel so comfortable here. I’m excited to get back, visit and experience new cities, meet more people, hear more music, and see more of the country that has influenced me so much.”

With all the India exposure, he inevitably looks to collaborate with some talent here. “I am in contact with some Indian musicians now and we are sharing some ideas back and forth,” he says, adding “We will see.”

Sunburn Arena is a sub-variant brand format created under the mega brand umbrella Sunburn, with an aim to cater to dance music enthusiasts across various cities pan India and around the world. Sunburn Arena has played host to some of the world’s leading DJs over the past few years including world renowned Hardwell, Deadmau5, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Dash Berlin and Avicii.
