The RRR wave keeps on giving! The movie that was released last year and conquered the whole film industry received much-deserved appreciation at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles as well.
SS Rajamouli’s epic creation rocked the whole world with it’s groovy song Naatu Naatu. Not only that, RRR has become the very first Indian feature film to bag an Oscar. The song was up against some fierce competition, though. With hits like ‘Applause’ from Tell it Like A Woman to ‘Lift Me Up’ from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marching up by it’s side, it was a race to the finish and Naatu Naatu overshone them all.
The song is the genius creation of Keeravani, the composer, with lyrics by Chandrabose, both of whom were present to bask in the glory and collect the award.
The track went insanely viral from the moment it was released, along with the movie RRR, that graced the cinemas for weeks on end! We don’t remember any other movie ever inspiring that much hype. This is definitely a proud moment for India as a nation of creative geniuses.
With the Oscar under it’s belt, Naatu Naatu’s domination of the whole music industry is now complete. The song won the Golden Globe in January as well, for being the ‘Best Original Song.’
Now there’s not a shred of doubt left in anyone’s minds about the RRR supremacy. We are still in awe of the live performance of the song during the Oscar ceremony by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava while Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra looked proud as a punch introducing the performance.
