As part of #HGStreet Festival’s 2nd edition, Homegrown showcased India’s burgeoning cultures and creative disciplines for the first time on 18th and 19th March 2023 in Mumbai. Individuals from diverse backgrounds and passions were able to network, share knowledge, and learn from one another at the event.
More than XXXX people attended and got enthralled at the two-day event, which celebrated creativity, music, arts, film, photography, sneakers and streetwear, fashion, sports, talks, pop-up stores, showcases, exhibitions, conversations, workshops & more. It took place in a 80,000 square foot industrial warehouse located in Richardson and Cruddas Mills, Byculla, where #HGStreet celebrated underground artistic expression and innovation.
Over the course of the two-day event, notable personalities from the entertainment and technology industries participated in panel discussions and performances by new generation artists. The audience was amazed with the energetic performances of such international artists as OG Shez, Shah Rule, Rae Mulla, Soopy, Nida, Sahirah, Mary Ann, Yashraj, SindhiCurry, Sickflip and others.
In addition, Santanu Hazarika, Chaitanya Dixit, and Dar Gai: Film hosted workshops that featured engaging and insightful discussions. A total of 40 visual artists and futurists showcased their compelling works whose inspirations and stories immersed the audiences in their stories.
Diverse cultures converged on #HGStreet2023. It was a great opportunity for cinephiles and luxury connoisseurs to attend six exclusive fireside chats on film, artificial intelligence (AI), and luxury, led by celebrated local and global talents, including Shakun Batra, Director & Film Maker, and Abderrahmane Trabsini, Founder of Daily Paper. Participants in the panel discussion discussed democratization of story telling with OTT-Diversity, freedom and creativity. Aside from Sayani Gupta, Abhay Pannu and Sonam Nair both wrote and directed Rocket Boys, as well as Nimisha Pandey, Zee5’s Content Chief Officer, Sonam Nair, and Ashim Ahluwalia, all of these panelists were actors, actors, screenwriters, actors, filmmakers, film makers, and cinematographers, among others. Radio Mirchi’s RJ Prerna Nahata and creator, curator and creative consultant Smriti Kiran moderated these insightful discussions.
The panel discussion was also interesting. It was moderated by Aneesh Bhasin, Co-Founder of Swami drinks, and had the panelists on the panel include Aditya Mehta- Founder CEO Art & Found, Sakshi Juneja- Co-Founder of Gaysi, Richa Shrivastava- Co-Founder of Maker’s Asylum.
The other panel was on ‘Navigating the Future of Homegrown AI. How Will It Change The World? Apart from Prateek Arora, Abhinav Aggarwal & Raghav Aggarwal – co-founders of Fluid AI, moderated the session by Mangalam Maloo, CNBC TV18’s news anchor & assistant editor.
Homegrown co-founder Varsha Patra and actor Siddhanth Chaturvedi hosted an exclusive HGSummit chat titled ‘Through the creative lens’. As Siddhant captured his journey in the Bollywood industry, the chat revealed some interesting stories about him as an actor.
As part of #HGStreets, a world of art and creative disciplines comes together and thrives on free-flowing discussions and ingenuity. Creating a sense of community was the aim; the festival brought together like-minded people across diverse streams and connected them to emerging cultures.
