The one-of-a-kind sequel Ponniyin Selvan 2 has been released in six languages by Tips Music, Lyca Productions, Malayalam Talkies and Kannada Talkies. Shilpa Rao is distinctly soulful in her vocals of the song “Ruaa Ruaa,” composed by A.R Rahman and thoughtfully penned by Gulzar.
Karthi and Trisha play Vanthiyathevan and Kundavai, two characters experiencing early emotions of love. Audience had been eagerly anticipating the sparks flying between Vanthiyathevan and Kundavai since PS1.
Ruaa Ruaa emphasizes emotions of love, valour, pain, courage & pride between two individuals who have a higher purpose in life despite having feelings for each other. A royal tale of kings, queens, and kingdoms unfolds in Ruaa Ruaa with its backdrop, setting, music, and lyrics.
Describing her experience with the song, Shilpa Rao said,
”I am honoured to be a part of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan-2. Also, I feel extremely lucky to be a part of a team which comprises AR Rahman & Gulzar Sahab. I had a great time recording Ruaa Ruaa and hope that people like it as much as we do.”
On their respective language pages – Tips Official (Hindi), Tips Tamil, Tips Telugu, Tips Malayalam Official, and Tips Kannada – the track is called ‘Ruaa Ruaa’, Tamil – ‘Aga Naga’, Telugu – ‘Aganandhe’, Malayalam – ‘Akamalar’ and Kannada – ‘Kirunage’.
The film Ponniyin Selvan 2, directed by Mani Ratnam, will be released in theaters on April 28, 2023. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu and Prakash Raj play pivotal roles in the film based on Kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan book.
