Recently, Sunburn India hosted the world’s number one DJ, Martin Garrix, on his first ever headlining tour, and it sold out faster than any concert in India’s history. Over the course of two weeks, Sunburn, Asia’s largest dance music festival, brought the celebrated 26-year-old Dutchman to 8 cities for a total of 9 performances. These cities included Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, and New Delhi.
The tour drew a total of 150,000 fans in person, while the official tally of aggregate ticket sales registered on bookmyshow was 105,000. This was more successful than the tours that artists like Arijit Singh, Vir Das, and Prateek Kuhad had performed in India. This makes Garrix’s tour the most financially successful concert series in India.
Indian superstars such as Ranbir Kapoor, Allu Arjun, Suhani Shah, Abdu Rozik, Just Sul, Aryan Khan, Nagma Mirajkar, Funcho, and others attended his concerts around the country to show their support for the two-time MTV EMA winner and four-time world’s #1 DJ.
”India is one of my favorite countries to perform in, and this tour has been one of the best experiences of my life,” says Martin Garrix. ”I’m already looking forward to our return after 9 sold-out gigs in 8 locations.”
“We are extremely proud and thrilled to learn of this development,” says Karan Singh, CEO of Sunburn. We appreciate everyone who has helped the Martin Garrix India Tour become a success and helped us realize our goal of becoming a market leader in the live events sector. Sunburn has started off the 2023 season well, and we will be announcing many more exciting things very soon.”
