At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards held recently at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and hosted by Trevor Noah, table maestro Zakir Hussain bagged three awards. The fusion band – Shakti led by Shankar Mahadevan and Zakar Hussain, emerged victorious in the Best Global Music Album category for their album – The Moment.

Another triumph for Indian artists came in the Best Global Music Performance category for the track ‘Pashto’ featuring Zakir Hussain, Rakesh Chaurasia, Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer. The album ‘As We Speak’, which includes the acclaimed track ‘Pashto’ bagged Best Contemporary Music Album award.
