Composer and Sarod player Avra Banerjee features four unique compositioons in his Global Music Project, one of which is Ganga Kaleidoscope, the very first song in the album featuring 22 other artists.
This collection of tracks takes the listener through a contemplative and divine journey of wisdom, timelessness, serenity, self-realization, love, connections, and synchronicity leading to a sense of peace and euphoria.
In this piece, based on Raag ‘Jog,’ you will be taken on a boat ride down the river “Ganga”, experiencing a variety of dynamics and emotions that are at times intense and tranquil, sometimes fierce and powerful, and you feel a sense of oneness with the power that drives them all.
This track organically connects Indian music to the melodies and rhythms of Western music in the same way that “Jog” means “connection”. It transitions from a four-beat cycle to a nine-beat cycle and plays in an unconventional unison pattern.
