NBCUniversal and JioCinema Partner to Bring Extensive Collection of Films and Series to India

NBCUniversal (NBCU) and JioCinema, Viacom18’s streaming service, have entered into a multi-year partnership to bring an extensive collection of NBCU films and TV series to audiences in India. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for JioCinema as it expands its program offerings and enhances the viewing experience for its users.

By joining forces with NBCU, JioCinema gains access to a world-renowned content portfolio, powered by Comcast NBCUniversal’s leading production entities and brands, including Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Universal Television Alternative Studio, Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Bravo, and more.

Starting next month, JioCinema will introduce a Peacock branded hub as part of its newly announced “JioCinema Premium” subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) tier. This dedicated hub will provide viewers with exclusive access to a range of exciting programming from NBCU.

They can look forward to enjoying first-run series like the heartfelt comedy “Young Rock,” starring global superstar Dwayne Johnson, which narrates the story of his life and the people he has encountered on his journey. Additionally, thrilling action thriller “The Lazarus Project” and the darkly romantic comedic drama “The Lovers” will captivate Indian audiences.

Furthermore, JioCinema subscribers will have the opportunity to watch Peacock Originals such as “Bel-Air,” a dramatic reimagining of the ’90s comedy series starring Will Smith, “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin,” a spin-off series featuring Adam Devine reprising his character from the hit film, and “The Calling,” an investigative drama series from Emmy® winner David E. Kelley.

JioCinema’s partnership with NBCU also extends to a vast library of critically acclaimed dramas and comedies that have garnered a dedicated fan base over the years. Viewers will be able to indulge in popular series such as “Downton Abbey,” “Suits,” “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “The Mindy Project.” Moreover, fans of reality television will have their cravings satisfied with shows like “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” “Vanderpump Rules,” “Family Karma,” which follows the lives of Indian-American friends, and “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning,” a transformational series narrated by Amy Poehler.

With this partnership, JioCinema aims to strengthen its position as the largest OTT service in the Indian market, offering an unparalleled selection of films and series from NBCUniversal.
