CASTLES IN THE AIR

CASTLES IN THE AIR

Your mother wanted you to be
An accountant or even a circus clown
But you had a dream
You had to follow down
You wanted to be a big rock star
With the world at you feet
With heaps of money a fast car
And even a football team no one could beat
With a mansion and a swimming pool
With a jet and beautiful girls
That would make everyone drool
So you built your Castle in the Air
Little realizing that your croaky voice
And the lead in your fingers
You learnt you wern’t getting there
One day the bubble burst
And as you sat amidst
The ruins of your dreams
But soon you picked up the pieces
From the debris of your dreams
And began on your Castle in the Air
That soon poked up through the clouds
Spurred on by one in a million
Success stories by tycoons
Who never told you that they made it
With a solid backing, a lot of luck
And most of all the time was right
And if you tried their way
You’d never make it
Even if you tried with all you might
So you have your fingers in different pies
This time you are going to make sure
That your dreams won’t die
I hope some day you’ll cross the stream
And won’t go down under
The rubble of your Dreams.
