OLD FOLKS AT HOME
Those of you who have old folks at home are blessed
Don’t think of them as a burden, this is a God given test
Appreciate the experience and wisdom that they bring
And the fact that they can advise you on almost anything
They are patient; they are peaceful, slow to anger and react
They have no guile or craftiness or cunning ways to act
They are not revengeful, boastful or devious in any way
They handle their own aches and pains with a smile each day
They are simple minded, not shrewd like you and me
The world they grew up in was not as complex as it can be
If we observe them with tolerance in their serenity
We will also gain some measure of their tranquility
