POET'S CORNER

SO LONG FAREWELL

SO LONG FAREWELL

I have cried, tried and waited too long

Those were sad, bad and mad days too long,

I thought I had won your heart over,

But now I realize all is over,

I have forced love upon you,

But it seems nothing to you

So long I thought I would chase you,

But now in the future how can I face you.

It is my own fault, for playing this trick,

This is the end where I halt, before I receive another kick

I am glad that you have found me unfit

And as days go memories I drop bit by bit

I am no modern man nor fair, but complexion tan

I am not handsome, but good as some

I possess no riches nor follow the latest fashions,

Even food is never plenty but in rations.

May be these are a few of your favourite reasons

That keeps you away through the four seasons.
